THE FRIGHT GALLERY 2001

More Fright Gallery faithful arrive to complete the pumpkin rind: (left to right) PeggyAnn, Kelly, Lisa, Keith and Matt.

Don't they look like they're having so much fun, they hate to be interrupted for a picture?

Erik constructs the pumpkin stem on a base of chicken wire, covered with foam chunks and strips of pipe insulation for the stem's vine texture.

A can of spray adhesive can work miracles at The Fright Gallery!

A few hours... okay, a couple days of drying in the sun and the pumpkin is ready for painting.

Amazing how a blob of wood strips, insulation and a couple hundred screws can turn into a pumpkin with just a little creative thinking and some elbow grease, isn't it?

By the way, take a last look at the lovely green lawn -- you won't see it that way again for a couple months once the pumpkin patch opens for business!
